Strategic Partnerships Manager, News and Podcast

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • An understanding of digital video and audio business models (AVOD, SVOD) and familiarity with YouTube-specific formats (Shorts, Live, VOD, Podcasts), algorithms, and analytics.
  • An intimate understanding of the Spanish-speaking Latam news and podcast ecosystems, including current digital trends, regional consumption habits, and the evolving transition from traditional to digital media.
  • Proven ability to build, maintain, and grow strategic partnerships, including tracking performance metrics, forecasting business outcomes, and ensuring positive partner perception.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager (SPM) for Spanish-speaking Latam (SPLA), you are a dynamic relationship builder who grows in a fast-paced environment and revels in managing complex, strategically important partnerships. You will cultivate and manage high-impact relationships across the News and Podcast ecosystem, working closely with traditional broadcasters, digital-first news publishers, journalists, and creators.

In this role, you will act as a lead consultant, guide partners on their YouTube content strategy, helping them navigate the evolving media landscape while meticulously tracking business impact to drive mutual, sustainable success. You will leverage your expertise in negotiation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration, seamlessly navigate Google’s internal processes to partners' needs. Responsibilities

  • Drive the partner strategy for the region, including prospecting new partners and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with the largest publishing and news partners, understand their unique business goals to provide strategic guidance, develop tailored business plans, and drive product adoption through priority activations, deals, and content strategies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end partner experience, negotiate and finalize contracts, execute account plans, and ensure clean partner agreement and corpus hygiene.
  • Serve as a passionate advocate for partners by leading the end-to-end resolution of escalations by partnering with cross-functional teams, and educate partners on policy and copyright decisions.
  • Conduct industry research, build business forecasts, and track key metrics to ensure strong engagement and brand reputation management.
