About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

In this role, you will flex between insights and business communications working across Product Areas (PAs) and cross-functional teams to support Developers missions. The market insights collected and communicated will have a direct measurable impact on Developer's missions to create a more commercial and customer focused organization. You will work closely with other go-to-market and cross-functional partners to deliver impact. You will look to improve and be comfortable operating at all levels of the organization and bring the very best of Core Developer to our customers while helping the PAs achieve their desired outcomes.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage the full suite of Product Strategy and Operations skillset to identify and drive step change improvements in the organization.
  • Flex across the Product Strategy and Operations skillset, spanning between insights, compelling communications, analytics, ensuring successful implementation, management, and measurement of novel projects across go-to-market and Developer teams.
  • Identify, summarize, and share market and competitive insights at all levels of the organizations, in partnership with executive cross-product and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Define, launch and drive problem-solving and investigative initiatives to improve internal and external facing processes and operations, working to mitigate risks and advocate best practices that are a benefit across the organization.
  • Drive and own programs that have a direct measurable impact on product OKRs. Partner to identify gaps and help propose changes to existing policy, systems and process frameworks and propose scalable solutions.
