About the job

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

In this role, you will research and stay up-to-date on key trends and suspicious patterns across policy areas. Develop resources to support our global public policy team’s work with regulators, trade associations, industry partners, nonprofits, and other partners. Support the team with research, analysis, and execution of policy initiatives, leveraging an understanding of external environments (e.g., the overall industry, policy, and political environment), policy infrastructure, and the governing ecosystem, and how they relate to YouTube’s policy initiatives and stakeholders. You will identify policy issues that may affect YouTube, monitor and analyze current and proposed policies, participate in policy campaigns, and solve policy and government affairs problems. Work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours as needed. Manage high-priority, time-sensitive escalations in partnership with cross-functional teams while providing executive updates.

At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking.
