  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working with MOCVD and Epitaxy tooling.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • Strong material characterization experience including optical and structural characterization techniques
  • Experience working in an epitaxial growth engineering technical environment

We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and adaptable Epitaxy Process Engineer. As part of the team, you will own driving epi growth processes for our cutting-edge microLED technology at scale. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth process and operation methodology and oversight needed for volume manufacturing. You will be part of a team to learn and develop our novel processes with state-of-the-art toolsets in a production environment. You will be collaborating with epi engineering and operations along with a problem-solving mindset and capability of insightful and accurate analysis of data. This role is fully onsite in Fremont.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own and continuously improve novel epi processes from concept, development and into volume manufacturing scale
  • Work with the epi engineering team to develop systems and methodologies to drive process stability and control, and to bring up and qualify new suite of tools for increasing capacity
  • Analyze experimental and production datasets to gain insights in epitaxial processes and influence on device performance for improvement and capability
  • Work with software, operations and epi engineering to improve process capabilities as we scale a first-of-its-kind epitaxy process in an integrated environment
  • Work on and own in-line metrology tools and measurements, using best practices for metrology and measurement tool control and improvement
