Policy Escalation Specialist, YouTube Creator Policy Experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python).
  • Experience in content policy, anti-abuse and reviewing online content.
  • Experience with quality and training processes.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and grow in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

The Creator Policy Experience team oversees and manages critical escalations and creator programs across all YouTube product areas with the aim to make the platform a trusted, fair and safe place for our users.

As a Policy Escalation Specialist, you will work across Trust and Safety and YouTube to ensure that we manage escalations holistically. You will provide management of critical escalations, creating a pathway to resolution and communicating with key stakeholders as well as our executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct strategic analysis, optimize business performance, and deliver within relevant product areas, including analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, important organizational implications, and changing circumstances.
  • Use Google’s big data to conduct data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends.
  • Review and manage escalations from graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines, ensuring high-quality and fair enforcement by considering creator perspectives. Be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting content at times.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to resolve disputes and clearly communicate policy decisions.
