Business Intelligence Engineer, Pixel Insights

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
  • 2 years of experience in SQL and Data Visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar technologies).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience working on Python (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Seaborn, Plotly, Matplotlib).
  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations and business questions into an analysis framework.
  • Ability to design databases including ETL design, schema design, and dimensional data modeling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.

About the job

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will transform data into dashboards and analyses to help make decisions within the Pixel device and services business day-to-day. You will use analyses and dashboards to anticipate questions and provide answers. You will be involved with data engineering to ensure the data can be trusted and accessible by those that need it. You'll work with key business partners to define data needs, design and create dashboards and other visualizations, modify or write ETL scripts, and collaborate with the software engineering team.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reports, queries, and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Data Studio, etc.) that access and consolidate information from a variety of data sources.
  • Write and review end-user documentation and technical documents, including requirements and design documents for existing and future dashboarding systems, as well as data standards and policies.
  • Assist in building and maintaining pipelines/ETLs.
  • Help build frameworks to improve Data Quality. 
  • Provide stakeholder management.
