Risk and Compliance Lead, Privacy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives and with program management involving stakeholders from multiple disciplines.
  • Experience building or implementing Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools.
  • Ability to get along with the team members at all levels and be a catalyst for them to achieve their goals.

About the job

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GTM) team ensures Google's evolving Ads business runs smoothly. The team is instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy.

The Policy, Risk, and Compliance (PRC) team plays a critical role in ensuring GBO stays compliant with applicable regulations, policies, and standards in order to drive sustainable ads business growth.

In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams within Google on activities related to Privacy and Compliance. You will be involved in managing Privacy risks within the organization that will allow plenty of opportunities to make connections across Google and maintain a high stake in driving the direction of how user privacy is treated.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$187,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Cultivate trusted technical and business partnerships across GBO teams and stakeholders to identify, assess, and resolve recurring privacy compliance challenges.
  • Conduct periodic assessments to identify systemic privacy risks within the business.
  • Engage with engineering and product leads to simplify and streamline how compliance requirements are incorporated into products and services.
  • Apply excellent organizational, analytical, prioritization, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills to disambiguate regulatory and compliance requirements and act as a bridge to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Develop effective processes, policies, controls, and metrics that ensure compliance of standards.
