Technical Program Manager, AI Innovation and Research, Imaging

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with machine learning, computer vision, AI, and image processing technologies or consumer imaging products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects that lead to the successful launch of AI-powered imaging features or products like photo editing, camera apps, or computational photography.
  • Experience working with research, engineering, design, and product teams to deliver consumer-facing features, ensuring alignment.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with image enhancement techniques, computational photography, and AI frameworks.
  • Ability to drive innovation and push the boundaries of imaging AI to create unique, personalized, and intuitive user experiences.
  • Ability to manage multi-functional projects in fluid environments.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will transform how users capture, edit, and relive their memories. You will be responsible for delivering professional-quality photography while ensuring equitable representation of everyone’s memories. Your focus will be on blending AI with creativity to drive innovation in the imaging space, making a meaningful impact on users lives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage research initiatives, developing timelines and milestones. Oversee the execution of imaging related AI and research efforts. Work with leadership to align projects with broader strategic Product and Development (P&D) goals, providing updates and ensuring priority initiatives receive appropriate resources.
  • Manage project and product life-cycles for new AI-powered features and products. Track progress of AI model development ensuring timely delivery.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring project goals, timelines, and risks are well understood.
  • Collaborate with research, engineering, and product teams to drive the development of AI technologies. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AI into consumer-facing products.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices for imaging AI research, development, and productization, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
