About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Digital wallets are evolving rapidly from simple device utilities into comprehensive digital companions that organize how consumers prove who they are, access the real world, and engage with merchants online and in-store. Across loyalty programs, retail offers, gift cards, receipts, digital identity, and travel and transit passes, there is a massive opportunity to eliminate friction in everyday consumer journeys and unlock deeper value for users, merchants, and the broader Google ecosystem .

In this role you will partner directly with Product Management and cross-functional leaders to shape the strategy, prioritization, and go-to-market execution across the Google Pay and Google Wallet portfolio—including payments, loyalty, gift cards, offers, receipts, digital ID, and travel and transit.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional leads to pressure-test product strategy and informed portfolio prioritization - grounding trade-offs in unit economics, external ecosystem incentives, and net value to Google.
  • Operate as the commercial "arms and legs" alongside Partnerships, Marketing, gTech, etc. to stand up 0-1 feature launches, directly unblock partner and operational adoption bottlenecks in the market, and unlock growth within north star metrics.
  • Advocate operational discipline, stage-gated investment governance, and process standardization. Use data and business judgment to streamline cross-functional dependencies, establish repeatable campaign templates, and eliminate execution bottlenecks.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, analytical excellence, and high operational standards. Craft clear, compelling executive narratives for senior leadership reviews
