  • Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment, applying design tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).

Preferred qualifications:

YouTube's Connections team is developing new sharing features designed to foster more intimate community. By enabling users to connect with people they know and share content with limited audiences, we aim to increase psychological safety and drive more engagement and creation on the platform. In this role, you will guide the team in designing the end-to-end user experience, carefully balancing user needs, business objectives, and safety considerations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and advocate the UX direction for YouTube Connections, aligning it with overall product strategy and balancing user, business, and safety needs.
  • Collaborate with UXR to understand user needs and validate designs through testing and iteration.
  • Develop UX deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that are intuitive, engaging, and accessible. 
  • Mentor and guide the UX team, fostering growth and delivering an excellent user experience.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and alignment between Connections and partner teams across YouTube (e.g. YouTube Shorts, Trust and Safety, Identity & Privacy, CoreX, Creator, etc).
