Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
- 5 years of experience with optical networking, transport layers, and managing end-to-end transport networks.
- 5 years of experience implementing network configurations and working directly with network infrastructure devices.
- 3 years of experience managing optical provisioning workflows and deploying optical networking equipment.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in telecommunications, including OSP/ISP, AC/DC power systems, and infrastructure construction.
- 6 years of experience directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.
- Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting DWDM systems, topologies, and network transport architectures.
- Experience in scripting and programming across languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with optical testing tools like OSA, BERT, and OTDR.
- Knowledge of fiber characteristics with excellent skills in optical engineering, systems design, and the deployment of optical transport hardware.

As a Senior Optical Transport Network Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for building, operating, and scaling one of the world's most powerful optical networks reliably and efficiently. Your primary focus will be delivering critical network capacity for the North America/ South America region.
In this role, you will own longhaul project delivery from inception to execution. This includes creating detailed bills of materials (BOMs), developing deployment packages, and executing complex turn-up workflows. You will evaluate and recommend tactical changes to existing physical infrastructure (such as structured cabling, risers, Point of Entrance details, and bulk fiber) while utilizing standard tools and processes to complete capacity additions, decommissions, and migrations. Additionally, you will collaborate with executive engineers to develop creative approaches, tooling, and process improvements to optimize and lower operational costs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$218,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and installation support for optical transport infrastructure, ensuring high-quality and timely longhaul project delivery for the North America/South America region.
- Evaluate and recommend tactical improvements to existing physical infrastructure, including structured cabling, risers, Point of Entrance (PoE) details, and bulk fiber.
- Execute end-to-end capacity additions, equipment decommissions, and network migrations by creating accurate bills of materials (BOMs), deployment packages, and turn-up workflows.
- Collaborate with executive engineering staff to identify, develop, and implement creative tooling and process improvements aimed at reducing operational costs and driving network automation.
