Employee Relations Partner, DeepMind

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in employee relations/investigations, gained in either an HRBP role, Employee Relations Advisory role, or equivalent experience as an employment attorney practicing employment law.
  • Experience advising on employee relations issues, including investigations, performance management, and reorganizations, in an Employee Relations role.
  • Experience navigating the Labor Relations landscape.
  • Experience managing workplace investigations and ER issues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in navigating difficult conversations, complex tensions, and ambiguity with critical thinking and expert solutions during change.
  • Experience using AI tools, with a recognition and awareness of AI’s responsible use, risks, and limitations.
  • Experience partnering on complex, scalable people efforts within fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Experience in US, Canada, and Latin America markets while balancing legal, cultural, and business risks to resolve high-stakes people issues while minimizing litigation exposure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, instilling trust in interactions with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, with the ability to translate ER datasets into actionable business insights and drive strategic decision-making.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $228,000-$248,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage investigations, performance, grievances, disciplinaries, accommodations, appeals and restructuring which includes advising on best practice and supporting colleagues through these processes.
  • Partner on large-scale change programs and collective issues, serving as a primary point of contact for topics such as organizational restructures.
  • Empower managers and P&C partners by enhancing Employee Relations (ER) capabilities through coaching, partnership  and development of tools and processes. Diagnose and support interventions for the continuous improvement of ER processes and policies.
  • Craft and deliver people practices which develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Identify and implement appropriate reporting mechanisms for employee relations cases, both informal and formal.
