Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • Experience in data center infrastructure (e.g., power space, cooling, networking).
  • Experience in scripting (e.g., SQL, Python etc).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in planning, execution and delivery of technical programs on time and within budget.
  • Experience in data-center components, including power, cooling, networking and other related infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze data sets, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to address capacity constraints and optimize resource utilization.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead initiatives to optimize data-center space utilization through planning, efficient server deployments, and the implementation of techniques. You will be the guardian of our infrastructure data, ensuring accuracy and proactively managing resource constraints related to space, power, and network capacity. You will foster seamless collaboration across teams, aligning stakeholders on capacity planning, resource allocation, and sustainability goals.

In this role, you will identify and implement strategies to reduce operational costs, optimize power consumption, and minimize our environmental impact. You will evaluate and recommend new technologies that enhance our data-center's capacity, efficiency, and sustainability. You will support initiatives to improve power usage effectiveness (PUE) through innovative cooling solutions, server optimization strategies, and the exploration of renewable energy sources.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead programs to maximize spatial capacity through efficient planning, server deployment, and innovative techniques.
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure data, including space, power, and network resources, to manage constraints proactively.
  • Develop models to optimize resource utilization, considering practical limitations and interdependencies as well as fostering cross-functional collaboration to align on capacity planning and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption based on their potential to address capacity constraints and improve efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives to improve power usage effectiveness through efficient cooling, server utilization, and renewable energy exploration.
