UX Designer, Premium Advertiser Experiences, YouTube Ads

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms, working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
  • Experience with systems design and standardisation of patterns.
  • Experience working in the digital/video advertising space.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • 1 year of experience leading design projects.
  • Experience with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (Android and iOS).
  • Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process and influence product design strategy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

About the job

In this role, you will be joining the Premium Advertiser Experiences (PAX), which is a team of 70 people (Engineering, Product Manager, User Experience (UX), Program Manager)) helping accelerate the shift of TV advertising dollars to YouTube through premium ad products and buying experiences. You will be an experienced UX designer who embraces cross-functional collaboration to drive strategy, identify opportunities, and produce seamless user experiences from conception to launch.

We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. Responsibilities

  • Lead product design for one platform, while also contributing to additional high priority areas within Premium Advertiser Experiences (PAX).
  • Understand business goals and seek to understand competitors, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with User Experience Researchers (UXR) to establish research direction and better inform product direction and designs through a users point of view.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, partner teams, and leadership throughout all stages of the product cycle, from inception through to delivery.
  • Balance platform constraints, technical limitations, and stakeholder needs to deliver effective design solutions.
