Senior Accountant, Cloud, Incentives and Commissions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • 4 years of audit experience in operational accounting including documentation, and control testing in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
  • Experience in GAAP accounting principles related to incentives or commissions accounting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with general incentive commission workflows (Internal Sales or Partner) from contracting to payout.
  • Experience in SQL or Python.
  • Knowledge of establishing reliable steady-state manual processes and transforming into scalable automated workflows.
  • Excellent accounting skills, including a solid understanding of accounting principles, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (ASC 710 and ASC 340-40).
  • Excellent investigative skills and experience with commission systems (Callidus, Xactly) and ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle).

You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand the accounting and operational flow of incentives and sales commissions, from policy to payout to envision, design and support reporting and accounting of sales commission accrual and capitalization in line with ASC 710 and ASC 340-40 respectively.
  • Work on internal and external reports, variance and other analysis prepared for senior management.
  • Collaborate with business partners across the commission process to define and establish scalable processes to address financial reports and lead continuous process improvements.
  • Develop risk management strategies for new business offerings and go-to-market strategies that directly impact compensation design and subsequent accounting. 
  • Mitigate risks through knowledge and engagement of the commission processes and reporting to enhance, implement and monitor controls including Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) scope.
