Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, Jigsaw

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with strategic partners, including media/news, academia, non-profit organizations, as well as tech platforms.
  • Experience operating within cross-functional teams, and assessing and balancing cross-functional issues or risks, working collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, owning a project and navigating ambiguity, including defining direction, milestones, and resulting impact.
  • Ability to balance engaging priorities and manage diverse and time-sensitive projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify and bring in internal and external stakeholders as well as influence them.
  • Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems with innovative solutions and actionable paths.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The Jigsaw Partnerships team supports all product, research and cross-functional areas to help move Jigsaw's projects forward. We build collaborations with a wide array of external partners (spanning human rights organizations, media and publishers, academia, think-tanks, non-profits, technology companies and experts) for our research, product development, launches, scaling/user acquisition, graduations, and marketing opportunities.

In this role, you will drive partnerships for various Jigsaw projects, research and product areas, Including working cross-functionally with Jigsaw and Google teams, sourcing and managing relationships with external organizations, and structuring collaborations.

Jigsaw is a unit within Google that explores threats to open societies and builds technology that inspires scalable solutions. Our team addresses a range of global security challenges including defending against digital attacks, mitigating the rise of online hate and harassment, countering extremism, and fighting censorship. Jigsaw offers mission-driven work within a nimble interdisciplinary team, connections to academia and civil society, and a quick path to taking technology public.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $162,000-$243,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the partnerships strategy for specific Jigsaw projects/product/research areas, including by sourcing, building and managing partnerships with various Google teams and external organizations to support research, development, launch and scaling of products and amplify and accelerate Jigsaw’s work.
  • Manage and track a high volume of relationships with current and potential internal and external partners for Jigsaw.
  • Work cross-functionally with other internal stakeholders (Product Managers, Engineering, UX/Design, Marketing, Communications, Policy, Legal, Operations, Finance, Program Managers, etc.) to scope, structure, negotiate, execute and manage our collaborations with external organizations, and translate them into executed agreements.
  • Manage the agreement-making process from inception to execution, and manage a high volume of agreement simultaneously. Adjust the agreement-making process as needed with existing or new systems, tools and templates.
