Strategy and Operations Manager, Device and Services Organisation

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory, or 4 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 6 years of experience working and supporting senior executives and acting as a key advisor to how they run their business.
  • 6 years of experience navigating, matrixed organisations, navigating cross-functional teams to collaborate on cross-functional projects, and influencing senior executives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience driving complex, cross-functional projects with ownership.
  • Ability to develop and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to independently envision and scope projects, structure problems, and build frameworks, delivering compelling data-driven recommendations that shape businesses and organizations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex business challenges.

The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

The Strategy and Operations team supports the EMEA Device and Services Business Org (DSBO) by providing guidance and scaled operational support needed to enable the growth of our business. In this role, You will define driving and operational projects to drive the sales business across our EMEA footprint. In this cross-functional role, you will help solve ecosystems, partners, and market issues. You will also partner closely with our EMEA Vice President (VP) and General Manager on various chief of staff objectives including communications and events that are crucial to the success of our business. You will bring commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and operational rigour and excellent communication skills. You will lead multiple strategic projects or initiatives at the same time, and provide clear, high-impact deliverables that influence leadership and help evolve the DSBO strategy and organisation. You will turn insights and recommendations into action by working with teams and with key cross-functional leaders.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assessments and partners with executive leadership to identify opportunities, address challenges, and shape the future direction of sales in the region.
  • Optimise business operations by designing and implementing efficient processes, metrics, and reporting mechanisms. This includes addressing organisational design challenges to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and drive operational excellence.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including regional category managers, sales teams, product leadership, and regional sales operations.
  • Leverage data analysis to drive informed decision-making. This includes uncovering insights, guiding choices, measuring the effectiveness of initiatives, and communicating findings in a clear and compelling manner to influence stakeholders.
  • Support the EMEA VP and General Manager (GM) by driving internal engagement (incl. communication and events), collaborating with the cross-functional leadership team.
