Lead Group Product Manager, Cloud SQL

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience with SaaS products in the relational database space.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 10 years of experience building and running cloud database service.
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with generative AI and building agentic systems.

Cloud SQL Platform is the driver of growth for Cloud SQL. As the Lead Group Product Manager for Cloud SQL Platform, you will be responsible for driving the outlook, strategy, roadmap and delivering results across multiple areas of Cloud SQL Platform including performance, availability and security. You will also lead the charter to drive adoption of AI to improve product experiences across the platform areas.

In this role, you will lead a team of Product Managers to deliver on the outlook and strategy while fostering a culture of collaboration, delivery and team health.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$334,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the roadmap and strategy for Cloud SQL platform across multiple product areas. Influence cross-product area strategy and define holistic and long-term strategy across all aspects of the product's success.
  • Lead and coach a team of Product Managers, to define roadmap for individual areas, foster collaboration and healthy team environment to deliver results.
  • Partner closely with adjacent product areas and identify opportunities for better portfolio level integrations and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the various engine product management leads to drive growth of the business. Synthesize data and present at business reviews to executives. Deliver profound product/project impact through complex and large in scope strategic investments owned by their team.
  • Leverage Google's powerful AI capabilities to improve product capabilities and improve organizational effectiveness by driving adoption of AI tools and best practices.
