Senior Director, Technical Program Management, Infrastructure and Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of product operations management experience across organizations.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects in the software engineering domain.
  • 5 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or equivalent roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understand the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identifies connections, adopts different perspectives and quickly responds to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Comfort with changing specifications or standards, and ability to create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.

As part of the Google Cloud Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) team, you will use your leadership skills and your talents for program management, mobilizing cross-functional teams and delivering solutions for scale and data-driven decision making, to launch and take to market solutions that accelerate our customers' success in the cloud. Your passion, technical, and business depth, and excellent organizational and communication skills will inspire our teams and rapidly establish trust among a set of stakeholders and customers.

As Director of Technical Program Management (TPM), Infrastructure and Solutions Group, Google Cloud, you will focus on the software services we build on the Google Cloud Platform. Opportunities span across domain specialties including Cloud Storage, Networking, Distributed Cloud, Geo Expansion, Reliability/SRE, Kubernetes, and Serverless. You will be an excellent leader and utilize experience managing teams of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. Setting outlook and direction, improving productivity, quality standards, resolving systemic problems, identifying trends, and implementing change are all keys to success.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $320,000-$445,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set outlook and execution of organizational direction for cross-organization projects across Google Cloud including, but not limited to: Cloud Networking, with additional initiatives that are deep in infrastructure. 
  • Partner closely with executive leadership in engineering and product management to ensure TPM alignment with business and organization priorities. Forecast resourcing requirements for TPM.
  • Provide oversight of delivery across the complete portfolio of cloud services.
  • Lead and inspire an organization of technical program managers drawn from several parts of the business, with a goal of driving alignment amongst software engineering and partner organizations spanning Cloud.
  • Build a healthy, scalable, and growth-oriented TPM organization across multiple locations. Lead other TPM groups to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage OKRs, release on time, bring tooling efficiencies, and help teams in execution.
