Senior Technical Program Manager, Privacy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in a privacy or data protection role.
  • Experience with metrics management and data visualization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Knowledge of perspectives across multiple functions including product, privacy, security, and legal.
  • Excellent project management and planning skills, with the ability to keep multiple priorities moving at the same time.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with multiple levels including the executive leadership team, peers, and managers.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the core operational cadence and governance structure for Android Platform Privacy, managing all operating processes, tools, and review cadences to drive executive decision-making.
  • Conduct privacy reviews for the Android platform and its related products, including data collection practices and data usage for accuracy and compliance.
  • Architect and manage technical integrations with existing privacy review workflows, applying customization where appropriate.
  • Liaise with central privacy tooling and governance teams, keeping team members apprised of changes and engaging in testing, piloting, and feedback opportunities.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to evaluate a variety of support requests from product teams, recommending actions, or developing related plans to address them. Support and mentor various team members on ad hoc projects.
