Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience designing mechanical components like plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools like 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of experience in interconnect (e.g. cable and connector) design, analysis, and validation of server systems and products.
- Experience with high-density cable and fiber management, GPU systems, and rack-level integration, configured shipment, and deployment.
- Experience in interconnect design/analysis using CAD/CAE tools.
- Working knowledge of interconnect engineering and design principles with specific expertise in the areas of design for medium-scale production, DFM/DFA, sheet metal and injection molding, material properties/science, dimensional tolerance analysis, corrosion resistance, water/dust ingress protection, signal integrity, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.

As a Mechanical Engineer you design and evaluate our data center systems, identifying product requirements and contributing to research and project planning. From the chip to chiller, you are responsible for designing and optimizing an architecture that will scale with Google's continued growth.
With your technical expertise, you lead and manage projects, develop product and process improvements, provide consultation to others and help facilitate training and development.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. Responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-speed I/O and interconnect cables and connectors.
- Concept and design the next-generation families of cables to meet the expanding needs for both internal and external PCIe solutions.
- Design Ethernet electrical cables to meet and exceed industry specifications.
- Support the growing portfolio of high power connector and busbar solutions.
- Perform tolerance analysis and FEA on critical mating designs.
