Finance Analyst, GBO Product Finance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with managing data sets to make business recommendations.
  • Experience with coding (e.g., SQL) and querying databases.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience successfully partnering with executive commercial or product leaders, balancing collaboration with strategic challenges to drive growth.
  • Experience with code management and a desire to evolve analytical capabilities at pace with AI-driven solutions.
  • Understanding of performance marketing concepts, including Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and incrementality, to evaluate investment productivity and advertiser profitability.
  • Understanding of standards of financial reporting.
  • Ability to craft compelling, data-driven narratives that translate financial metrics into insights to influence executive decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Excellent executive communication and presence, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders and global leadership.

About the job

As a part of the EMEA Global Business Organization (GBO) Product Finance team, you will serve as the strategic engine and analytical backbone for Google’s Global Business Organization, providing the financial oversight necessary to navigate a advertising ecosystem. You will act as both a key partner and an independent advisor to commercial leaders, transforming market and usage data into actionable strategies, by exploring the productivity of investments and understanding shifting consumer trends, ensuring that Google’s commercial initiatives, from specific product verticals to agency partnerships, are grounded in financial and long-term value creation.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within this function, you will lead critical commercial programs such as the Ads Value Accelerator, which evaluates advertiser profitability through a sophisticated lens of product performance and financial metrics. You will be expected to master the intricacies of value propositions, using technical prowess in SQL and Google Sheets to solve high-stakes problems as this role requires an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to grow in ambiguity, responsible for building and scaling new analytical capabilities that move the needle for regional business strategy.

In this high-impact position, you will balance the delicate role of being both a business partners’ ambitions and a "challenger" who ensures every decision is principled and data-driven. You will manage resource allocations, providing the executive presence, required to influence decision-making at the highest levels of the EMEA organization. You will establish sound Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) and driving a culture of performance, bridge the gap between abstract commercial goals and concrete financial results, ensuring that quarterly forecasts and strategic priorities remain perfectly aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong network of productive relationships and serve as a business partner across Finance, GTM and Sales leadership to progress key Product/AVA priorities and address a wide range of operational questions.
  • Provide thought leadership and influence decision-making through deep knowledge and understanding of key business drivers, product trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and distill business performance trends and financial metrics, separating signal from noise, bringing related insights to appropriate forums to drive awareness and required action.
  • Manage a portfolio of data-driven analysis projects that deliver actionable insights to grow the business and mitigate risk, connecting the dots to inform and tailor business strategy and ensure local landing.
  • Craft and deliver compelling narratives in a variety of executive decision making forums, both with internal and external stakeholders.
