Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in CAMS.
- Experience with cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Experience working with global compliance programs and managing initiatives of varying complexity.
- Expertise in Financial Crime compliance, with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, and Sanctions regulations.
- Understanding of compliance compliance-related topics, such as AML, customer complaints and cyber hygiene/technology risk.

The Google Payments Compliance team makes sure that our business is always operating in line with current financial regulations. Composed of master jugglers, this team balances Google's compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you get to be on our regulatory needs. This includes development and enhancement of policies, reporting and licensing needs, broad oversight, and working cross functionally with teams internally and externally. Additionally, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find good solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring teams across Payments understand the criticality of being compliant. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.
This role is an Enterprise Risk Specialist position within the Second Line of Defense Payments Compliance team. The primary responsibility is to ensure the accurate, proactive, and holistic identification, assessment, reporting, and monitoring of Payments-specific risks globally, encompassing existing and new Payments products, features, and expansion initiatives.
In this role, you will focus on strategically developing methods to continuously enhance risk coverage across various products within Google's ecosystem using optimized frameworks and risk assessments. You will be a subject matter expert and collaborate with Product Area Compliance Leads and Payments Compliance teams to interpret regulatory requirements, identify vulnerabilities, and implement risk-based controls.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $107,000-$153,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to analyze existing and new payment products to determine Enterprise Risks - Financial Crime, Regulatory, Operational, Technology, Privacy and Security, etc.
- Support Regional Compliance Officers across the globe with remediation efforts including control development resulting from assessments.
- Work with central compliance to ensure payments risks are accountable.
- Communicate results with key stakeholders and leadership including entity Boards.
- Support risk governance via various committees such as the risk council.
