Senior UX Content Designer, YouTube Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in Trust and Safety, policy, compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience designing highly sensitive product experiences and shaping content design in workflows.
  • Understanding of voice and tone principles and the ability to execute on them with empathy for multiple audiences (e.g., creators and viewers) across a range of sensitive situations.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including legal, policy, and regulatory teams.
  • Ability to provide direction to UX writing to create clear, concise user experiences across multiple platforms and a large ecosystem.

About the job

As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. As a stellar writer, your portfolio of work demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience. You work with people in a variety of UX design-related jobs including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms. You regularly use empathy, logic and data to inform content choices and recommendations that include the right words and sometimes complementary data and images.

In this role, you will help in solving some of the most challenging issues impacting YouTube and online safety today. You will drive YouTube’s content strategy for keeping the community safe. You will have the opportunity to scale your impact through frameworks and systems that help others execute on your content strategy and narrative. You will also work with a team of other passionate UXers committed to keeping the YouTube community safe.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive a goal and lead the development of a holistic content strategy for YouTube Trust and Safety, including for emerging audiences like Youth and Women.
  • Partner with UX and product and policy teams across YouTube to drive content-driven solutions for users.
  • Drive scalable frameworks, systems, and standards to address issues.
  • Collaborate with designers, UX Researchers, product managers, engineers, legal, policy, and other cross-functional stakeholders to write clear, concise, and polished content for Trust and Safety features, from conception to implementation.
