Software Engineer III, Full Stack, Cloud AI

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages like Python or Go.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Agentic AI frameworks.
  • Experience in cloud computing, back-end, and distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience of developing Agentic AI systems using Vertex AI, Google ADK etc.
  • Experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing high-volume, distributed systems or cloud-native infrastructure.

The team is building Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered agents using Gemini and the Agent Development Kit (ADK) to provide intuitive, conversational access to essential government services.

In this role, you will work on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) projects in emerging markets, leveraging open network protocols to create interoperable systems for agriculture, education, healthcare, and more. You will drive national-scale digital transformation, making public services more accessible and efficient for millions.The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build conversational AI agents powered by Gemini to provide citizens in emerging markets with intuitive, natural language access to essential public services such as Agriculture and Education.
  • Help build voice-enabled interfaces to support vernacular languages, ensuring high-quality performance for users in low-connectivity or high-latency environments.
  • Implement agentic workflows using the Agent Development Kit (ADK) to bridge the gap between complex digital infrastructure and user-friendly conversational experiences.
  • Provide a Google Cloud opinionated agent blueprint which can be deployed seamlessly to fast-track adoption of AI impacting millions of users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create "Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)-in-a-Box" sovereign solutions, helping governments deploy national-scale digital foundations.
