- 15 years of experience managing projects in Engineering, Finance, Consulting, or Operations organizations.

- Experience in Capacity and Demand Planning, Supply Chain Operations and/or technical infrastructure

As Director, Strategy and Transformation in Capacity and Demand (C&D), you will be a critical thought, strategy, and execution partner for the Vice President and the overall leadership team. This role will have technical strategy development, operations metrics management, and organizational development aspects, and you will flex across both types of work streams. You will be responsible for driving technical progress, which requires technical acumen and experience in cloud architecture, demand planning and supply chain expertise. You will also be responsible for developing and executing on strategic and operational initiatives across the organization that will transform the way we approach capacity and demand planning, which requires a strategy and operations skill set, and thinking to bring about transformational change. This is a key role that includes leading and contributing to the growth, development and overall health of the organization and you will also work closely with key cross-functional partners to align strategies and business decisions.
The Capacity and Demand planning team in Google Cloud manages demand planning for Google Cloud Platform, Google-wide machine learning demand, shared services demand for Google product areas, data center power forecasting, and data science for this and other teams within Google Cloud. We are at the center of planning and delivery for capacity within Google Cloud as our organization manages Operational Expenditure and signaling long-term data center construction. We partner with Google product areas, supply chain execution, data center planning and construction, specialized machine learning and Google Cloud infrastructure planning teams, and Google Cloud leadership to optimize speed and efficiency as Google grows and creates data center capacity across the planet.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $246,000-$354,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Define and drive implementation of C&D wide strategy through a portfolio of strategic initiatives.
- Establish/run an efficient business cadence, driving business reviews with executive stakeholders, annual strategic planning, headcount/budget management, conflict management, and organizational communications, and running programs to improve growth, development, and training in the organization.
- Utilize financial acumen and the ability to articulate financial impacts of strategic choices. Serve as air traffic controller for leader, executive team and key partners, lifting themes to address across the organization. Be responsible for developing/executing communication plans to ensure strategy/alignment.
- Lead, incubate, and communicate critical and emergent projects from strategy through execution.
- Build/lead a small team to execute across four key pillars (i.e., strategic and annual planning, business cadence, operational metrics development, and cultivate extended CoS network supporting other VPs and Directors).
