Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in a technical role focused on data and analytics.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing customer-facing technical teams.
- Experience in one or more of the following domains: databases, data warehousing, data lakes/lake houses, data engineering, business intelligence, or geospatial data analysis.
- Active, or the ability to obtain, a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Google Cloud data and analytics products (e.g., BigQuery, Spanner, Cloud SQL, Dataproc, Dataflow, Looker, Google Earth Engine).
- Experience working with public sector customers (e.g., federal, state, local, and education).
- Understanding of data governance, data management principles, and their application in regulated environments.
- Ability to lead and execute complex, customer-facing technical engagements such as proof-of-concepts and architectural reviews.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to various audiences.

Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Data, Analytics, and Geo specialist engineering team within the RISE organization. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and proactive customer engagement.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for Google Cloud data platform in the public sector, encompassing databases, data warehousing/lake houses, data processing and engineering, data intelligence and governance, and Google's Geo portfolio.
- Drive customer success through advanced technical demonstrations, Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and architectural guidance for complex mission-critical challenges.
- Collaborate closely with leaders across the RISE organization, including AI, Security, and Platform Engineering to deliver integrated, comprehensive solutions.
- Engage with key public sector customers to understand their needs and act as a trusted advisor on their data journey. Serve as the organization's technical expert for the data and analytics portfolio, guiding the team and public sector customers.
