Solutions Engineer, GenAI, Trusted Tester Program, gTech

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
  • 3 years of experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • Experience in development workflow management (e.g., Agile) and in navigating infrastructure in a large technical organization.
  • Experience working with Google App Script, prototyping environments, AI-powered development tools, and integration with Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate as part of a distributed technical team, and distill requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more).

gUP’s Trusted Tester Program enables pre-launch insights from real users to ensure product quality and market fit at scale. Our program increases quality and reduces support costs for Google products and has a specific focus on Gemini and other GenAI products and features. We help product teams ensure that products and features meet real-world user needs and expectations before launch, and deliver these insights with high velocity and volume. We are a critical part of the launch process for some of Google's most-visible products. The Trusted Tester program is critical for our product area stakeholders. Our team is responsible for centralized program management and technical infrastructure development and delivery for the program.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and launching internal tools and automation that improve program efficiency and enable the flawless execution of core program workflows. You will be responsible for gathering stakeholder requirements, solving problems, designing solutions, navigating infrastructure requirements and policies, and developing a sustainable codebase.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $123,000-$176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Work on technical development for program infrastructure, including internal tools and automation.
  • Design, develop, and launch solutions that meet client and user needs.
  • Drive progress in team focus areas, including AI-enabled workflows.
  • Gather requirements and create and maintain internal and external documentation.
