Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 4 years of experience coding with a general purpose programming language (i.e. Java, C/C++, Python).
- 3 years of experience in software development in backend infrastructure, which includes testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale serving systems, multi-layer caching strategies, high-QPS RPC servers, etc.
- Ability to influence teams across organizational boundaries.
- Excellent project management and execution skills.

The YouTube Metadata Service (YTMS), is YouTube’s high-Queries per second (QPS) metadata serving platform powering all of YouTube's products and surfaces. This is one of YouTube's most critical services, operating at a massive scale while meeting tight standards of latency, freshness, and reliability.
In this role, you will manage the YouTube Metadata Service team, responsible for crucial infrastructure that powers virtually every experience at YouTube. You will be responsible for the continued growth of the platform, delivering new capabilities to our customers while continuing to uphold rigorous standards for efficiency, latency, and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Software Engineers responsible for YouTube Metadata Services (YTMS), support them in their growth, success, and delivery against team and Product Area (PA) priorities.
- Develop knowledge of the team's systems, dependencies, customers, and partners, ensuring the team's current and future priorities are the right ones.
- Influence and shape roadmaps, infrastructure and strategies across the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, cultivate a mindset that promotes teamwork and innovation across different YouTube and Google teams.
- Builld technology stack on Boq, Scaffolding, C++, Spanner, RDMA, CliqueMap, UDCS-MV, and more.
