Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of product design experience, with 5 years of experience leading design for mobile OS or browser integrations (e.g. Gemini in Chrome), the integrated assistant on Android, or AI-integrated products.
- Experience leading senior teams and managing managers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience launching complex, zero-to-one consumer interfaces, mobile applications, or developer platforms.
- Conceptual comfort with API integrations, on-device system constraints, and LLM behavior. Experience with front-end prototyping (e.g., HTML/JS, Flutter, or declarative frameworks).
About the job
As Director, you will own the end-to-end design strategy and execution for Gemini’s native system-level and browser presence. You will lead the UX for Gemini’s mobile and platform integrations, including Wear OS, Android system intelligence, Gemini in Chrome, and our flagship integrated assistant experience on Android that sits seamlessly on top of other applications. This is a high-impact, pioneering role chartered with designing how people command, collaborate with, and steer AI-native system interactions in real-time.
In this role, you will partner deeply with a team of machine learning scientists, engineering leads, and user researchers to translate multimodal reasoning into a tactile, effortless, and beautiful system utility.
