Senior Interaction Service Designer, Ads Privacy and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience fostering design thinking and advocate ideas that evolve products.
  • Experience working in creative ways with legal to navigate highly-regulated spaces.
  • Experience with service design in a highly complex space.
  • Track record of using User Experience Design (UXD) to influence decision making, communicate concepts, facilitate understanding, shape product strategy and motivate teams.
  • Ability to build relationships and deliver results in a cross-functional/matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate positions, and test partners and stakeholders with new product design thinking.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

Ads Safety is a highly complex problem space with constantly evolving policy and regulations requirements. As a Service Designer, you will help deepen our understanding of the both internal and external user, and through architecture mapping of problem spaces, identify and provide gaps and assessments for policy enforcements creating better experiences for trusted actors.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Create, understand critical CUJs of internal and external enforcement and advertisers flows.
  • Set the standard for UX design practice not only as a means to delivering outcomes, but as a way of deepening understanding and driving strategic conversations in a complex problem space.
  • Identify areas of opportunities within policy areas to create safer Google Ads ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Google to develop strategy for Scams, Actor Safety, Enforcement for Agencies.
