Senior Privacy Engineer, Android, Extended Reality/AR/VR

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a privacy related field (e.g., security engineering, data engineering, data scientist, compliance engineering etc.).
  • 1 year of experience designing solutions for technological problems that maintain the privacy posture of the organization, working with teams across multiple workstreams.
  • 1 year of experience leading the application of privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.) to solve technical and data management problems, customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet user needs.
  • Experience in XR/AR/VR Privacy.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with the hardware development lifecycle or hardware privacy.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, including experience with code review in one or more general purpose languages.
  • Knowledge in the domain of AI/ML privacy.
  • Familiarity with mobile and Android platforms, and app development.

About the job

As a Senior Privacy Engineer, you will review product designs for Extended Reality/Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (XR/AR/VR) platforms and devices, and provide privacy guidance and requirements for product privacy assurance. You'll also provide privacy solutions (such as PET) to reduce privacy risks for our users and increase trust in our products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive privacy solutions into products and services, including early engagement with Product and Engineering teams on the product design.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the privacy excellence of product launches, including with Legal and Public Policy teams.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments and provide guidance and solutions to mitigate identified privacy risks. 
  • Provide post-launch support in the form of privacy subject matter analysis for incidents and vulnerability reports.
  • Exercise design and architecture related knowledge to develop and drive technical privacy solutions as well as policy changes alongside Engineering teams.
