Digital Operations Manager, YouTube TV

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of product operations, project management or equivalent experience including 3 years of experience in the Media, OTT or media industry.
  • 3 years of experience with live broadcasting and live streaming operations including event day and escalation management, and video streaming/broadcast solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in managing vendor/contractors extended staff and running global and scaled operations.
  • Experience in OTT delivery, quality measurement and troubleshooting.
  • Domain experience with common media operations workflows such as live station/service launches, content embargo, task management software and other broadcast video technologies.
  • Experience with data, analytical problem solving using SQL queries. Ability to query/analyze datasets.

The TV and Media Solutions team accelerates YouTube’s TV and Originals businesses with stellar technology solutions, operations, and partner support, making data exchange seamless and scaling critical business processes. Our team of Partner Technology Managers, Partner Engineers, Solutions Consultants, and Program Managers manage operations and partner support for YouTubeTV and YouTube Premium.

As a Digital Operations Manager, you will utilize experience with video technology and live broadcast delivery to build and refine a sustainable operations framework in support of continued growth and scale of the business. You will establish operational benchmarks, understanding broadcast delivery and driving tangible process improvements.

In this role, you may be required to work a schedule outside of standard work hours including weekends/holidays.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$156,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day digital operations for YouTube TV, Primetime Channels and media-related products related to live monitoring and escalation management. Regular review of output (e.g., tickets, comms, and execution), including daily/weekly follow-up to ensure seamless operations.
  • Design operational processes using streaming/broadcast expertise and apply tools and automation solutions for scale and growth. Define and manage operational metrics (volume, performance, and impact) and execute plans to improve the measures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, (e.g., Product and Engineering, to plan and build the right operational processes and tooling investments. Work effectively with YouTube vendor partners globally, drive operational improvements in partnership with the governance team, including implementation of training and quality programs.
  • Forecast and plan for recurring operational and capital expenses. Support work on priority live events for YouTube.
