Hardware Validation Engineer, Pixel Watch

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in a hardware validation technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in consumer electronics industry with focus on on system validation or integration.
  • Experience with system architecture and common system interfaces (e.g., I2C, USB, SPI, MIPI, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • Experience in a cross-functional role, leading meetings and sending weekly status reports.
  • Experience with various components of modern wearable devices like SOC, RF, Memory, optical/motion/health sensors and related theory of operation and validation strategies.
  • Experience with system integration including electro-mechanical components (e.g., audio, display, antenna, etc.).
  • Knowledge in multiple manufacturing test and validation methods used in consumer products.

As part of the Pixel Hardware Validation team, you will interact with multiple teams including modules, physical design, electrical engineering, software, and firmware teams to drive responsibilities related to prototyping, test, and data acquisition. You will work with multiple teams and collaborate with them on validation planning and execution. In this role, you will be responsible for making sure the product is fully validated to meet product requirements documentation, and for driving execution and sending weekly validation reports to the leadership team. In addition, you will also assess risk to design maturity of the product and highlight/escalate top issues to the key stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functional partner teams and review road-maps/timelines and define tasks priority to assess program risk.
  • Review testing results with cross-functional teams and lead/support issues until resolution.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to define and document test plans to become system test coverage.
  • Ensure system level validation quality improvement (e.g., test coverage comparison, enhancement from issues, testing standard/process).
