Campus Security Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in either managing security operations within a multinational corporation, managing law enforcement operations, or managing military security operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with security technologies including CCTV, access control, and incident management systems.
  • Experience working with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services.
  • Proven track record in managing security operations and security personnel and delivering high quality, customer-oriented security programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask in a changing and ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy with high ethical standards and proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

About the job

In this role, you will lead Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) Operations program across one of the Google campuses. You will be responsible for all aspects of physical security on a designated campus. You will work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance the security and safety of Google. You will coordinate or support physical security (security services, access control and CCTV systems, site surveys), risk/threat assessments, on campus - investigations, protective services, travel safety, event security and EHS programs. You may also supervise employees and contractors performing specific security and safety objectives and monitor vendor performance and expenses.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$187,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and develop overall campus security program and oversee the management and the execution of site specific security operations ranging from highly specialized and unconventional in-house security programs to more traditional security services and other vendor staff to respond to emergencies.
  • Develop and implement security standards, policies and practices; oversee the daily management of operations of vendors providing services including security, training, protective services and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with GSRS teams and other groups within Google (HR, Legal, etc.) and external emergency services as they relate to campus security.
  • Perform data analysis and create bench-marking to support risk assessments and threat identification; create and present travel briefings as they relate to crime and health risks.
  • Support planned and unplanned operations, and support events and special activities as needed.
