Mechanical Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • Lean six sigma or equivalent.
  • Experience in sustaining mechanical components and use of the 3D CAD softwares such as Solidworks, NX.
  • Experience in managing or overseeing contract manufacturing providers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing standards are defined and complied with by Contract Manufacturers (CM), with oversight and approval of manufacturing process changes.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and ensure production readiness at existing CMs.
  • Support and triage of manufacturing interrupts, escalations, and risks.
  • Prototype (e.g. 3D printing) mechanical components, identify Design for Excellence opportunities, and communication of lessons learned from manufacturing builds.
  • Build, source, and test new mechanical components and hardware systems within a fast-paced engineering group, and work closely with optical engineers and electrical engineers on system integration.
