Staff Equipment Engineer, Semiconductor, Raxium

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience as an Equipment Engineer in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, including front-end and back-end operations.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and other technical documentation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with complex semiconductor equipment (e.g., vacuum, dry etch, PVD/CVD, wet etch, advanced lithography systems, high-volume metrology systems).
  • Experience leading complex tool installations, including reading and interpreting cut sheets.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design with the ability to manage teams, and experience working effectively with vendors.

As an Equipment Engineer, you will support our microLED development. You will focus on a broad range of semiconductor support equipment and clean-room infrastructure, demanding an understanding of the relationship between semiconductor processes and associated production/support equipment. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex electro/mechanical equipment issues, managing projects related to equipment performance, and collaborating with the team on installation, improvement, maintenance, and repair of clean-room equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment across diverse process areas (vacuum, lithography, metrology, wet processing, etc.).
  • Design and implement equipment modifications and improvements, including upgrades to control systems, robotic handling, and other automation.
  • Manage advanced troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems, including robotics, PLCs, motion control, pneumatics, and vacuum systems.
  • Work with process and equipment engineering teams provide project support for tool and upgrade installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
