Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with strategic partners on overall relationship management, business development or agreement making, especially in the News industry.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience in News and News partners’ business and issues or comparable experience in another industry and keen interest in News.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience driving negotiations in technical or regulated industries.
  • Experience working with key leaders internally and externally.
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating and closing strategic partnerships with executive-level relationship management.
  • Knowledge of News and News business and ecosystem.

We are creating the next generation of AI-assisted publishing tools designed to responsibly enhance journalism, not replace it, ensuring strong editorial oversight remains critical.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize partner goals; become an expert on each goal's organization, business model and strategic priorities. Serve as a liaison with these partners regarding new product and feature launches and distribution opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage product implementations in collaboration with Product and Marketing team and maintain effective relationships with publishers and relevant news ecosystem stakeholders and identify new opportunities to grow their audience and business through our platforms.
  • Conceptualize, gather resources and conduct regular outreach and training to large and small News publishers to represent Google and its products both 1-1 and at relevant industry events.
  • Represent News Partnerships and coordinate as needed with cross functional Google’s business organizations.
  • Drive execution of the agreed News Partnerships strategy leveraging existing resources.
