Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in internal and executive communications.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experienced in designing presentations, videos and creative collateral.
- Experience in producing virtual and in-person events.
- Ability to effectively communicate via presentations, scripts and emails with minimal editing.
- Ability to adapt quickly and prioritize depending on the circumstance, and work and maintain good judgment in a fluid environment.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, and work effectively across many functions to influence, manage, and drive narratives across the internal organization.
About the job
As a member of the Executive and Internal Communications team, you will be part of a team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google's culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.
In this role, you will partner with executive leaders in our Shopping and Payments organizations to inform and inspire employees. You have strong writing ability, and creativity will help them effectively share their strategies, navigate change management, and build pride in the organization. You will also work with the head of internal communications team to develop and execute our communications programs at the cross-Commerce level.
We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$156,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Partner with the head of internal communications team to develop and implement an internal communications program that helps Commerce employees connect with leaders, understand the organization’s strategy and feel a sense of pride in Commerce.
- Work with VP level executives within Commerce on their internal communications strategies helping them inform and motivate employees in line with their leadership styles. This includes crafting a variety of communications, like strategy shareouts, change management, executive presentations, site visits, and more.
- Manage and build partnerships with key cross-functional stakeholders like chief of staffs and Human Resource (HR) to devise clear communications, and distill complex subjects into easy-to-understand language across teams and geographies.
- Write, edit and collaborate on communications, including emails, newsletters, presentations, videos, etc.
- Measure and analyze communications efforts for their effectiveness against stated goals.
