Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience applying Cloud Reliability Engineering principles and practices, including experience with system design, performance, incident management, and automation.
- Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.
- Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience with modern applications, platform, or infrastructure design.(e.g. Kubernetes, Apigee, or Openshift).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in cloud technologies through certifications or relevant coursework.
- Experience refactoring monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, or serverless models.
- Experience in technical consulting, delivering projects to achieve defined outcomes and supporting customers.
- Experience leveraging logging, monitoring, and observability tools to ensure system health and performance.
- Experience with network/application protocols, databases (RDBMS, NoSQL), and cloud/virtualized environments.

As a Cloud Reliability Engineer, you will work with Google Cloud customers to build and improve their Site Reliability Engineering practices and systems, as well as work on a variety of reliability-related initiatives. You will have the opportunity to take care of customers unique issues building, running, and scaling production systems. In this role, you will work with Google's most strategic Cloud customers. You will help customers learn to balance reliability and velocity through systems design, metrics and monitoring, capacity planning and scaling, incident response and more. In addition, you will act as a thought leader and guide in bringing the fundamentals of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to life in other organizations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Educate customers on SRE best practices, guiding them in developing and implementing Service Level Indicators (SLIs)/Service Level Objective(SLOs), operational policies, and reliability assessments.
- Review technical incidents, leveraging various analysis tools and data insights to drive customer solutions and product improvements.
- Create and deliver engaging, informative technical content (tutorials, presentations, etc.) adapted to diverse audiences, showcasing SRE expertise and influencing industry trends.
- Empower customers to achieve reliability goals by suggesting code-level resolutions, recommending self-service tools and documentation, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve the support experience.
- Travel to customer locations, providing technical guidance and building relationships with key stakeholders.
