Solutions Engineer, Google for Education, gReach Program for People with Disabilities

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience serving in the capacity of a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing role, working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team.
  • Experience in architecting cloud based analytics systems, and dashboards.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in selling or deploying Google’s Collaboration tools (e.g. Workspace, Classroom, Chromebook) in either Education or Enterprise setting, or equivalent experience using similar products.
  • Experiences with managed endpoint devices (PC or mobile), and the growing ecosystem of browser-based applications and collaboration tools, in workplace / school digital transformation projects.
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript) and in Architecting cloud based Analytics systems, and Dashboarding Experiences.
  • Knowledge of regional user computing technology and EdTech market needs and engaged insights.
  • Ability to speak and write in Japanese and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

About the job

The gReach Program is a 12 months paid upskilling program for industry professionals with disabilities where participants will receive on-the-job-training and work on a range of projects. The goal of the gReach program is to provide participants from underrepresented groups with the opportunity to grow their career as professionals.

This role is exclusively for people who have a Japanese government-issued disability certificate.

This is a Technical Solutions Consultant for Education, providing technical solution consulting to external customers and internally on supporting cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer business requirements, create and develop solutions which will address customer requirements and bring Google’s innovation into their school infrastructures.
  • Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include activities such as bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work and the coordination of supporting technical resources. Collect, synthesize and analyze customer feedback which is then used to clearly communicate customer needs to the product teams and help inform future product direction.
  • Prepare and present demonstrations of Google products and address technical questions that arise throughout the sales process.
  • Work closely with our Sales, Product, Support and Engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements for Google for Education products.
  • Promote Google for Education’s portfolio in both customer-facing meetings or public events.
