Sales Manager, Engage, Commerce, Google Customer Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of sales experience in advertising, marketing, consulting, media, business development, or advertising agencies.
  • Experience in building relationships with internal and external C-level stakeholders, particularly in an advertising or marketing context.
  • Experience leading a sales team or developing sales professionals.
  • Experience in digital media and managing large advertising budgets and campaigns.
  • Experience building a book of business.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or comparable degree.
  • Experience with or coaching digital campaign management, particularly in Google Ads or competing products.
  • Experience managing and inspiring high-performance sales teams.
  • Leadership experience in sales/operations management, strategic planning, and systems thinking, with the ability to align strategies and deliver customer business outcomes.

  • Understanding of customer business objectives and ability to develop joint business plans in complex, ambiguous environments

As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team working directly with Google’s small business advertisers, and help develop scalable solutions for our advertiser base. You will enable your team of sellers (e.g., account strategists or digital strategy leads). Engaging with decision makers at advertisers, you will set the direction and the strategy of how they can grow and transform their business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management, operations, training, coaching, and support of a sales team to deliver on business growth, engagement, and customer satisfaction goals for a portfolio of customers.
  • Work with the senior leaders to ensure collaboration between your team, partner sellers, and cross-functional teams, and align on Google-wide priorities.
  • Guide and hold team accountable to building and managing effective long-term plans with their customers.
  • Build and manage relationships with C-level clients and executive partner stakeholders. Develop a comprehensive understanding of their business challenges, marketing objectives (both brand/consideration and profit driven marketing related), and success metrics.
  • Structure a clear, long-term joint strategy between Google and clients, and lead a cross-functional team within Google to collaborate on projects and drive client success.
