gTech's Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) team empowers Product Areas (PAs) to optimize outsourced operations while reducing risks and driving efficiency through the enforcement of Google best practices and policies. We advocate for informed decision-making, ensuring our partners find the right talent in the right locations. Our collaboration across Google leads to streamlined processes, minimizing administrative burdens and optimizing the extended workforce (xW) experience. We ensure Google's policies and guidelines are consistently adhered to.

As a part of the Risk and Compliance (R&C) team within Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) is responsible for ensuring that Google complies with all laws and regulations applicable to its contingent workforce globally. You will identify and assess risks, set requirements, design and assess controls, ensure governance, and conduct testing and auditing. You will enable and empower Googlers to achieve success while protecting Google's brand and reputation, and as a second line of defense at Google, you will work with other teams to ensure that Google is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

In this role, you will work within the Risk and Controls team overseeing a team of risk and controls experts and will be responsible for the development and oversight of the risk management cycle in R&C. You will oversee an iterative process to identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and monitor risks to Alphabet's extended workforce operations.

You will partner with relevant cross-functional and ecosystem partners and with appropriate control owners to ensure that controls are designed, tested and operating effectively to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and our risk appetite.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 154,000-158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of risk and controls subject matter experts.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks in the contingent workforce space including operational, legal, reputational, cultural, and financial risks.
  • Develop and execute a plan to effectively assess risk impact and design of controls which includes the objective, scope, approach, budgets and timelines.
  • Formulate sound and balanced recommendations and guidance to strengthen processes and controls in partnership with management and risk partners, while monitoring and validating the completion of business mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate, communicate, educate and influence policy, process and control owners throughout Google and at different levels to improve process and controls to mitigate risks, while preparing reports to document the scope, procedures, findings and recommendations of the work performed.
