Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including: Java, C/C++ or Python.
- Experience developing and deploying large-scale distributed systems.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience designing and implementing Machine Learning (ML) architectures.

Our team manages one of the sophisticated, planet-scale data processing infrastructure products. This platform is the backbone of the organisation, powering foundational ML features related to YouTube or Search, and next-generation AI initiatives. You will lead a team of Software Engineers dedicated to evolving the next generation of distributed computing.
Your primary objective is to advance the scheduleability and auto-tuning capabilities of our data processing infrastructure. These optimizations are critical for supporting both massive-scale Machine Learning pipelines and standard data workloads. You will bridge the gap between complex infrastructure and the cutting-edge products.

- Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
- Influence and coach a team of engineers.
- Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
