Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with a product data management (PDM) Tool (e.g., SAP, Agile, Windchill).
  • 5 years of experience developing technical relationships with contract manufacturers/vendors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate well with multi-geo teams, efficiently collaborate to achieve project goals, contribute positively to the engineering community and manage projects spanning multiple technologies.
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous process improvements working with cross-functional teams, contract manufacturers and suppliers.

As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer (EME), you will evaluate product designs and create the processes, tools, and procedures that power our global technical infrastructure. You will ensure that processes remain repeatable, controlled, and scalable and will collaborate with cross-functional engineers to define infrastructure needs and product specifications, ensuring every piece fits perfectly to maintain a seamless user experience.

In this role, you will support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing and qualifying manufacturing technologies. You will be an expert with a track record of successfully scaling processes in collaboration with Contract Manufacturers (CM) and Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM). You will possess an extensive understanding of the tools and techniques required for high-caliber infrastructure products and will serve as a vital partner to product development teams, utilizing your industry expertise to conceptualize and implement advanced manufacturing techniques. By identifying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) opportunities, you will ensure the delivery of advanced products and efficient fulfillment chains. Your work will directly enable the software, hardware, and networking platforms that power all Google services globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineers in the development of manufacturing process solutions and capabilities, including industry-first process definition, startup, and qualification.
  • Strategize the implementation of manufacturing processes into established production and capacity planning to achieve forecast goals.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation (e.g., Bills of Materials, assembly drawings, manufacturing work instructions) in support of New Product Introduction.
  • Establish, deliver, and maintain manufacturing and quality processes and standards for new technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes as required.
  • Collaborate with design and cross-functional engineering teams throughout NPI phases to identify value engineering opportunities and ensure manufacturability. Work closely with manufacturing partners on build readiness and process validation, solving design and manufacturing issues efficiently to meet project timelines and ensure flawless NPI launches.
