Finance Analyst, Platforms and Devices, Marketing Finance (English, Spanish)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with building financial reporting, produce analysis, implementing scalable monitoring and implementing reporting solutions.
  • Experience in developing strategies in fast-paced competitive environments, impeccable business judgment for resource allocation decisions to achieve the desired business outcome.
  • Experience with SQL or other query languages and budget management and planning.
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will work closely with teams across Finance and Marketing as the primary Finance owner for the marketing budgets of Google’s Global Platforms and Devices team. You will monitor and review all spend, reporting on that spend and improving cost management. You will use Google’s big data to architect metrics, solve problems, and influence executive decision-making. You will develop new tools in order to drive scalable analysis and insight. You will also influence decision making on investment strategies for products and assist in resource allocation.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning cycles, and drive visibility into Google’s marketing spend and resource planning decisions.
  • Act as a Business Partner to Platforms and Devices Marketing teams, including reporting, budget management, financial planning, proposing and tracking performance metrics, providing insights on key financial drivers, and communicating these insights.
  • Develop new tools, dashboards and processes in order to improve process efficiency and create scalable analysis and insight.
  • Engage in ad-hoc analyses to understand business performance and forward looking risks and opportunities.
  • Influence marketing investment prioritization and decision making through data-driven analysis. Identify, measure and analyze performance metrics in order to provide guidance on results and useful insights to drive improvements.
