Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
- Experience in building large-scale infrastructure offerings.
- Ability to align cross-functional stakeholders around common goals.
- Ability to collaborate and lead projects with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate and influence the strategies for product areas.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers - from inspiration to to a simple and secure checkout experience - and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers. We support and partner with the commerce ecosystem, from large retailers to small local merchants, to give them the tools, technology and scale to thrive in today’s digital world.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and lead an engineering team with a focus on url product matching, and the associated infrastructure, on-call rotations and cross-client support that entails.
- Define metrics and develop roadmaps for successfully improving Shopping graph annotations coverage and quality and widen its applications in Shopping and beyond (incl. Websearch, Youtube, Chrome, Discover).
- Partners with counterparts in Search and Core Infrastructure organizations to leverage horizontal tools and negotiate partnerships and roadmaps which increase their utility for Shopping use-cases.
- Partner with various teams throughout Shopping to maximize success.
