AI Developer Relations Engineer, Machine Learning Developer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools including deep learning, neural networks, and Generative AI.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in an external facing role or equivalent experience through community or open source contributions.
  • Experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles with an existing follower base, or contributing to an open source project.
  • Experience working directly with customers, partners, or third-party developers, and advocating or mentoring for technologies and programming languages.
  • Experience with testing, designing and influencing software launches.
  • Interest in creating a social media presence (YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Excellent JavaScript and Python programming skills.

Join us to build the best tools in the world for AI developers. We are a team of developer advocates working to bring incredible models from Google DeepMind to the developer community. You’ll work on products including Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, Gemma open models, Imagen, Veo, Google Colaboratory, Kaggle, and more. You will be the interface between Google and our developer community, being their advocate, understanding their needs, solving their questions, speaking at conferences, participating at hackathons and engagements, creating amazing demos, and contributing to SDKs and frameworks. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering to bring cutting edge AI techniques to developers. This is a fast moving and high impact space, and a unique opportunity for a passionate and driven developer advocate.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture a vibrant community of developers around Google's Gemini API and Google AI Studio, Gemma, Google Colaboratory, and Kaggle. Speak at conferences (e.g., Google I/O, and Cloud Next, developer events), and run hackathons to explore new use-cases for AI.
  • Identify and solve points of friction in the developer experience. Bring developer feedback to product and engineering teams, advocate for the needs of users.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to ship new models and features. Ensure a high quality developer experience across SDKs (e.g., documentation). Communicate new AI techniques clearly to developers.
  • Create and teach online courses and create code examples and inspiring demos.
  • Author blog posts and create videos to help developers succeed.
