Strategic Product Partnerships Manager, Project Starline

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing OEM and component partnerships, shaping hardware/technical roadmaps, and leading direct contract negotiations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of Google’s products, the broader hardware industry, video communications, and tech landscape.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Ability to manage partner relationships, deliver channel sales outcomes, balance multiple partnerships and priorities, and drive impact work with minimal supervision.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Project Starline’s mission is to bring Google’s new immersive communications experience to business and eventually consumer users everywhere. As part of the Project Starline team, the Starline Product Partnerships Manager will manage key Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) partnerships, as well as critical hardware and platform partnerships that will help us build and maintain our roadmap of products. You will execute agreements and be responsible for partner success through cross-functional teams and resources, manage long-term relationships, and drive roadmap execution with internal product and engineering teams as well as external partners.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $162,000-$243,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with OEM, component, and hardware partners to develop, sign, and manage partnerships to build and maintain hardware roadmap, develop long-term relationships with both executive leaders and operational teams at key hardware partners, and evolve and adapt the partnerships over time.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to understand technical requirements and needs to drive roadmap.
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams to manage key relationships and ensure success for individual needs of roadmap while supporting cross-functional partnerships.
  • Drive business analysis across key partnerships to ensure positive relationships across life-cycle of partners, and provide business analytics and insight reports on business development to senior management.
  • Work with Direct Sales and Channel teams.
