Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer, Watch

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in system engineering on battery operated devices.
  • 4 years of experience with SoC architecture, data processing and memory management on ARM based devices.
  • Experience in power/performance trade-offs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in working with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)/Original Device Manufacturer (ODM)/Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM)/Contract Manufacturer (CM) partners.
  • Knowledge of product development process for mass-volume production design with design for manufacturing and design for test.

The Google Pixel Watch team focuses on designing and delivering helpful wearable experiences. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global wearables and create quality experiences for users across the world.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and drive embedded system designs to help create the next generation of Pixel Watch Devices. Drive New Technology Introduction (NTI) efforts to enable new features and optimizations for future Pixel Watch devices.
  • Serve as the Platform Lead for Pixel Watch programs, work with cross functional NPI team to drive updates to the Platform to support product/program requirements, and resolve platform related issues that arise during the development phases.
  • Ensure platform hardware design meets the need of new Product Requirements Document (PRD) features, and drive optimizations to meet PRD goals.
  • Own system specification documentation such as System Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS), System Block Diagram, Peripheral Interfacing, Pin Mux, Key Components list, and Clock Tree.
  • Serve as the primary interface to core System on a chip (SoC), Microcontroller unit (MCU) and Memory suppliers.
